Jerron's Page about Cars!

My name is Jerron, and I created this website with limited information about my passion for cars. This page is where you can learn more about me, the author, and my gearhead journey Thank you for coming and taking a look at this page about one of my passions. My grandfather was the first person to really get me excited about cars, as he was a mechanic and hotrodder for most of his life. He has a 1951 Chevrolet Pickup truck that he heavily modified into a drag vehicle, and has been working on cars for decades. When I was younger, I did not really appreciate just how amazing he was, but that changed later in life.

In high school, my first job was at the Kroger right near my house, where I walked every day. My family was not made of money, so we could not afford to get a car for me to drive. However, my grandpa had a 2000 S10 he had bought off a neighbor, and was not using. It needed a lot of work, but he graciously offered to give it to me once we were done working on it. I enthusiastically accepted, because being a teenager without a car is not very fun nowadays, and we set to work. We spent weeks replacing brake lines, transmission fluid, rusted bolts and cracked bushings. It is thanks to my grandfather and his technical knowhow that I was able to get better jobs, and am able to afford college now. Wrenching on cars vastly improved my life.

Fast forward to today, and I was able to get a much nicer vehicle. I drive a 2021 Mazda CX5, but that little truck I had in high school is still ticking in the hands of my niece. I am overjoyed that that truck is able to bring joy and opportunity to someone else, and I do my best to keep it running, so my niece can have all the opportunities possible. A few weekends ago, we went to a junkyard, and replaced one of the doors, which had rusted shut in it's old age. But the truck still runs, and mechanic work keeps bringing hope into disadvantaged peoples lives. It truly is one of the greatest hobbies.
